Excited to see this unanimous decision to once again uphold the even year election law. Increasing turnout in elections strengthens our democracy! In Onondaga County 2024 turnout was 72% and 56% in 2022 vs only 30% in 2023.

This is another example of Onondaga County spending our taxpayer dollars to suppress residents voices. When this came before the legislature in 2024, I spoke out against spending taxpayer dollars to fund an expensive lawsuit to keep turnout low. Now after almost 2 years and an unknown amount of our taxpayer dollars wasted, we can implement this important change to increase turnout in local elections.

All county legislators elected in 2025 will serve a one year term and will have to run again in 2026 for a normal two year term.

Make sure you have a plan to vote this year to elect representatives who will increase transparency and be fiscally responsible with your taxpayer dollars.

Vote for Elaine Denton on November 4th!
