I traveled to Albany on February 11th to advocate for common-sense policies to be included in this year’s state budget. These policies would make the ultra-wealthy and most profitable corporations pay their fair share.
When I talk with neighbors they share their concerns about rising costs and not being able to afford to live here in Central New York. I love New York, but working people are leaving and economic inequality is at an all time high. We can’t wait anymore.
We can fund universal childcare. We can pay workers a living wage. And we can invest in essential programs to help people thrive if we make the ultra wealthy and corporations pay their fair share.
Local communities can not fill the federal cuts that are coming. We need the state to step up and provide funding so that local governments can invest in much needed services to help our communities thrive.
It’s time to Invest in Our New York!
