The federal budget bill that was signed into law on July 4th is dangerous. It is going to hurt so many. We will feed less people when we need to feed more. It will close hospitals and cut healthcare when we need access to more. It will heat the planet faster. It increases onerous paperwork making it harder for people to receive the services they need and qualify for. It funds control over care and gives tax breaks to billionaires. It will increase the deficit by trillions!
What is happening right now is bad. We are already seeing it hurt our local area by the federal government canceling a $30 million federal grant awarded to Syracuse that was already allocated to revitalize one of the city’s poorest neighborhoods.
State & county government will need to step up in a big way to continue to provide services residents depend on.
